SolaCom and AK Associates team to provide turnkey E9-1-1 solution

Will help PSAPs respond effectively to calls from diverse networks

CHARLOTTE, NC - JUNE 11, 2007 - At the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) conference today, SolaCom Technologies and AK Associates announced they are teaming to make it easier for Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) to receive and respond effectively to 9-1-1 calls.

SolaCom Technologies designs and manufactures a new-generation selective router, which enables accurate E9-1-1 call routing regardless of the network origin. AK Associates is a full service communications system provider that installs, upgrades, and maintains systems for public safety agencies.

The partnership provides a cost-effective, turnkey solution for PSAPs to meet FCC i3 specifications and handle the unique requirements of E9-1-1 call routing regardless of the network origin: PSTN, cellular, or VoIP/VoIM.

The new generation SolaCom IQ Gateway selective router will provide 9-1-1 centers with a new price/performance/functionality standard. The IQ Gateway will allow them to expand their operations without a forced upgrade of existing equipment, facilitating a graceful path to migrate from current generation selective routers to the next generation. With the new generation of selective router the 9-1-1 centers will be able to add cost-effective SS7 interfaces, expand the selective router from 192 to over 4000 simultaneous calls, handle VoIP calls, use VoIP trunking, provide in-house voice conferencing, and more.

AK Associates will be offering the SolaCom solution to PSAPs looking to enhance their capability to receive and respond effectively to 9-1-1 calls. In addition to the equipment solution, AK Associates provides the entire range of skill sets and services required for deployment, with professional technicians, engineers, project leaders and managers who have skill sets for Wireless Phase II, VoIP, database and CPE networks.
